2015 Beijing Humboldt Forum
ConferenceFollowing the extraordinary success of the 2013 and 2014 Beijing Humboldt Forum (BHF), the 2015 BHF has been organised on the basis of the excellent scientific research carried out by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation (AvH). The BHF is also a part of the national policy for green economic development in China. This year’s BHF will focus on the topics Green Economy, materials and innovation, as well as on cultural heritage.
The Beijing Humboldt Forum was first held in November 2013, embedded in a regional meeting of the AvH, as a side event of the EU-China Summit (chaired by Premier Li Keqiang of the State Council, President Herman Van Rompuy of the European Council and President José Manuel Barroso of the European Commission). The event is the result of interdisciplinary and interregional cooperation, and it presently promotes the analysis of Chinese development in the areas of culture, economics and technology in the context of Chinese and European traditions. Following the example of the Davos Forum, the BHF also subscribes to the AvH principle: small, but excellent.
