Pensions and Sustainable Financial Markets
Professor Dr. Dr. h. c. Martin Weber is research associate at ZEW. He works in close cooperation with the research unit “Pensions and Sustainable Financial Markets”.
Research associates usually function as co-managers of research projects at ZEW. They also supervise dissertations of ZEW's employees and, in addition, get involved in creating or maintaining major ZEW research focuses.
Martin Weber is chair of finance and banking at the University of Mannheim/ Germany since 1993 where he teaches general business administration, financial economy and especially banking management. Before his coming to Mannheim he worked at the Universities of Cologne and Kiel as professor. He spent about three years as visiting professor at UCLA, Wharton School, Stanford University and at the Fuqua School of Business, Duke University.
From 1997 to 2008 he was speaker, respectively deputy speaker of the Sonderforschungsbereich 504 (rationality, decision behaviour and economic modeling) or the German National Science Foundation of the University of Mannheim. From April 2004 to March 2006 he was Dean of the Faculty for Business Administration at the University of Mannheim. He is a member of The German Academy of Natural Scientists and of the Academy of Sciences and Humanities of Berlin-Brandenburg, a board member of the Schmalenbach Gesellschaft and member of the scientific advisory committee of the Deutsches Aktieninstitut.
