Fourth MPI-ZEW Law & Economics Workshop
WorkshopThis workshop is primarily aimed at young researchers. As part of the workshop, legal scholars from the Max Planck Institute for Comparative and International Private Law and economists from the Mannheim Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) will be given the opportunity to present their research ideas or recent research results, and to engage in interdisciplinary discussion. The event helps to reinforce the ever-growing importance of the collaboration between legal scholars and economists in many policy areas, as well as the increasingly interdisciplinary practice of research.
Previous editions of the workshops focused on providing researchers with the opportunity to present their own interdisciplinary projects, such as dissertation plans from legal scholars. This allowed participants to improve their work using other researchers' feedback, as well as to engage into interdisciplinary networking. In the upcoming workshop we aim to enhance the exchange of methodological expertise by adding an even stronger emphasis on didactic aspects to this tried and tested concept. To this end, both parties will provide presentations on methodological skills as part of the workshop. For legal scholars, the upcoming workshop will feature an introduction into econometrics.
