2nd BETA-ZEW Workshop 2018
WorkshopEnergy transition, aging population, rising inequality, and the concentration of innovation among specific players and territories are some of the biggest social challenges faced all around Europe. Economics can address such challenges through sound recommendations to policy-makers, businesses and society.
Germany and France play a key role in shaping Europe’s new strategies. Franco-German research cooperation is needed to foster research along these lines to find the most accurate political framework to address ongoing social challenges. In this context, ZEW organizes a second meeting on the 20th of June 2018 in Mannheim (Germany), to identify research opportunities to further strengthen collaborations between both institutions. This 2nd Research Workshop is a follow-up to the 1st Research Workshop, held in Strasbourg (France) on the 8th of February 2018 and during which some synergies between the ongoing research agendas among environmental and innovation scholars were underlined. This event will pursue the initial opportunities recognized during the 1st workshop and will enlarge the exchanges into the realm of labour markets and social policy.
