Twin studies show that entrepreneurship is heritable (40%). These studies do not say anything about the genetic architecture behind this phenomenon. The modern technique of 'genome wide association' makes it possible to investigate which genes are involved. The opportunities, restrictions and difficulties of this modern technique are discussed. Application of this technique will change the nature of economic research. The economics of preference heterogeneity will shape its future.
