Selent and Mucic Take the Chair of ZEW Sponsors’ Association for Science and Practice
Dates and NewsAt the general assembly of the Sponsors' Association for Science and Practice at the Mannheim Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW), a new chairman and deputy chairman have been elected. The position as chairman of the Sponsors' Association is to be filled by Dr. Alexander Selent, vice chairman of the executive board and head of finance at Fuchs Petrolub SE. The position of deputy chairman will be filled by Luka Mucic, member of the executive board and the global managing board of SAP SE.
ZEW's Director of Business and Administration, Thomas Kohl, thanked Professor Andreas Dulger, chairman of the management board of ProMinent GmbH, for his outstanding commitment and his support of ZEW, which he has provided for a number of years in his role as chairman of ZEW's Sponsors' Association. "Together with the Sponsors' Association you have made numerous research projects of practical relevance possible, and have supported events which otherwise would not have taken place," explained Kohl in his thanks to Dulger.
Since its establishment in 1993, the ZEW Sponsors' Association has promoted exchange between research and business practice. Members of the non-profit association include representatives from companies, in particular from the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan region and from Baden-Württemberg, who support ZEW's research activities. The association functions as a platform for discussion of central issues from the fields of economy and politics amongst business representatives and researchers. Such a dialogue has proved itself to be fruitful for both parties. Companies gain scientifically grounded information, whilst researchers gain a much needed insight into practice.
