The core of this project is the analysis of research questions in various areas of applied competition policy. It aims at promoting economic and econometric work in competition policy cases and regulation issues. At the heart of this goal are quantitative methods to empirically test theory-driven concepts and predictions to establish specific policy recommendations. Research in this project extends to the analysis of the implementation of regulation directives in network industries in the European Union. Besides economic methods, the project includes the analysis of legal provisions from a law and economics perspective.
