The aim of the project was to carry out comparable surveys about firms’ innovation behaviour for a large number of OECD countries in and beyond Europe. The project focused on the following two questions:
- How does innovation activity affect productivity and employment growth? The analysis was based on the model from Crépon, Duguet und Mairesse (1998) which describes the relationship between innovation input, innovation output and productivity.
- How do different forms of legal protection (e.g. patents) influence innovation incentives? The basis of the empirical analysis was the newly introduced model from Duguet and LeLarge (2006).
