Alexandre Gnaedinger

Inequality and Public Policy

Alexandre Gnaedinger joined the ZEW Research Unit “Inequality and Public Policy” in December 2022. He first studied industrial engineering and worked as an engineer for two years. He then turned to economics and obtained a bachelor’s degree from the Université Grenoble Alpes and a master’s degree from the Ecole Polytechnique de Paris. During the previous years, he completed a research internship at HEC Paris on firm-level income inequality, worked as a research assistant at the EU Tax Observatory of the Paris School of Economics, and did a traineeship at the European Central Bank in financial regulation. In September 2022, he started his PhD at the University of Mannheim.

His research focuses on the area of taxation, public policy and inequality. Among other things, he is interested in tax competition between European countries, tax avoidance by firms and individuals, and the impact of policies on redistribution.
