Karla Schneider-Dörken

Karla Schneider-Dörken studied English and German language and literature at the Free University of Berlin and Heidelberg University as well as at the University of Surrey in Guildford, UK. While working as a junior consultant at the software company SAS Institute GmbH in Heidelberg, she completed an extra-occupational further training course to become a press officer/PR consultant at the German Public Relations Association e.V., Berlin (DPRG). After several years at SAS Institute GmbH as a communications specialist, she joined ZEW Mannheim in October 2020.

As an international and public relations officer, she is responsible for the conception of public events such as First-Hand Information on Economic Policy, #ZEWlive and #ZEWBookTalk as well as the ZEW Lunch Debates in Brussels. In addition, she is in charge of organising ZEW’s participation in the nationwide YES! (Young Economic Solutions, formerly Summit) school competition and takes care of school visits and inquiries to ZEW.
