International Student Group at ZEW
Guests at ZEWA group of international students from the University of Mannheim visited the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW), Mannheim, on 7 November 2018. The students visited ZEW in the context of the “Step by Step” project by the International Office of the University of Mannheim. The project is funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and aims to support international full-time students on their way into the German labour market.
Dr. Daniela Heimberger, head of the Service Department “International Cooperation and Public Relations”, welcomed the students and provided an overview of the work carried out at ZEW. After that, head of the HR department Doris Brettar gave the students information on career opportunities at ZEW, such as internships, the opportunity to work as a student assistant and permanent positions. Two ZEW researchers then gave insight into their daily work at the institute. Olga Slivko, PhD from ZEW’s Research Department “Digital Economy” and Claire Gavard, PhD from the Research Department “Environmental and Resource Economics, Environmental Management” talked about their professional backgrounds and presented their work in the ZEW research departments.
