Economics of Innovation and Industrial Dynamics
Since October 2021, Enrico De Monte has been a researcher at ZEW’s Research Unit “Economics of Innovation and Industrial Dynamics“. He studied economics at the universities of Konstanz, Florence, and Strasbourg with a focus on econometrics. He successfully completed his PhD at the University of Strasbourg in June 2021, which was carried out in close cooperation with the French technology centre for wood products (FCBA) in Paris, where he spent several years. As part of his dissertation, he studied firm dynamics in the French manufacturing industry and their effect on aggregate productivity and market power.
He was also particularly interested in the analysis of structural competition models to characterise both firms and industries with respect to their efficiency. He pursues his research in the field of empirical industrial organisation with a special focus on the link between microeconomic aspects such as firm entry/exit, efficiency, and market power and their macroeconomic implications.
