Enery Efficiency - A New Assignment for Regulation of the Government?

Enery Efficiency - A New Assignment for Regulation of the Government?

The project aims at analysing possible regulatory intervention to increase energy efficiency from an economic viewpoint. Increasing energy efficiency means increasing the ratio of output over employed energy, i.e. the increase of energy productivity. Starting from economic literature the first part develops criteria for an economic evaluation of energy efficiency regulation. In the second part these criteria are used to assess different instruments to increase energy efficiency. In particular experiences of energy efficiency regulation in different countries are exposed.
