Comparative Study on Simulation Studies Evaluating Reforms in the German Unemployment Aid Scheme

The German government has requested simulation studies to evaluate the expected impact of reform proposals concerning the income exemption schedules in calculating unemployment aid from two research institutes. The purpose of the study is to compare the two methodological approaches and to judge the overall reliability of the simulation results.
