High-Tech Start-Ups in Germany 2011

In this project, the start-up activity in the German High-Tech sector is analysed over time with respect to the number of firms per 10’000 persons in working age (start-up intensity) and its share in total start-up activity. In addition, the start-up activity on the level of the German Bundesländer is studied. The high-tech sectors cutting-edge technology manufacturing, high-technology manufacturing, technology oriented services as well as software supply and consultancy are considered separately. Period of analysis is 1995-2010. As data base, the Mannheim Enterprise Panel is used.
