In the Research Area “Reimbursement of Medical Services”, the Research Group focuses on three aspects: reimbursement of outpatient as well as inpatient medical services and the development of quality-oriented reimbursement schemes. The type of reimbursement creates an incentive for providers to offer more or less services of higher or lower quality. Analysing the impact of various reimbursement mechanisms helps identifying innovative approaches for the welfare-improving development of reimbursement schemes.
