MEA Director Prof. Axel Börsch-Supan, PhD, New Member of the ZEW Supervisory Board

Prof. Axel Börsch-Supan, PhD, an internationally renowned economist and director of the Mannheim Research Institute for the Economics of Aging (MEA), was appointed to the supervisory board of the Mannheim Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW).

He replaces Prof. Dr Manfred Timmermann, a long-standing member of the supervisory board, who passed away last year. Börsch-Supan will join his colleagues at the supervisory board in setting the ZEW's strategic course. The other current members of the ZEW Supervisory Board are Gerhard Stratthaus MdL (Chairman), Minister of Finance of the federal state of Baden-Württemberg; Prof. Dr Dr Jürgen Strube, president of the Union of Industrial and Employers' Confederations of Europe (UNICE); Prof. Dr Dr h.c. mult. Otto H. Jacobs, University of Mannheim; Prof. em. Dr Egon Lorenz, University of Mannheim; Ministerial Director Dr Friedrich Bullinger, Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Economic Affairs, Small Businesses and Technology; Ministerial Director Wolfgang Fröhlich, Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Education, Research and the Arts and Dr Rudolf Kühner, head of unit at the Baden-Württemberg State Ministry.
