Minister Theresia Bauer Elected Chairwoman of ZEW Supervisory Board

Theresia Bauer MdL, Minister of Science, Research and the Arts of the Federal State of Baden-Württemberg, has been elected new chairwoman of the Supervisory Board of the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW). Dr. h.c. Eggert Voscherau, chairman of the Supervisory Board of BASF SE, has been elected vice-chairman of ZEW's Supervisory Board. Bauer is the successor to Minister ret. Gerhard Stratthaus MdL, who had chaired the ZEW Supervisory Board since 2002.

During his long commitment as chairman of the ZEW Supervisory Board, Stratthaus supported the ZEW Board of Directors and contributed to the institute’s successful development into one of the leading economic research institutes in Germany with a strong European reputation. Minister Theresia Bauer, ZEW President Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. mult. Wolfgang Franz, and the Director of Business and Administration, Thomas Kohl, expressed their gratitude for his work. ZEW will also benefit from his experience in the future, as Stratthaus remains a member of the Supervisory Board.
