Volksbank Weinheim Stiftung and the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim Introduce New Research Award
Dates and NewsThe Volksbank Weinheim Foundation (Volksbank Weinheim Stiftung) and the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) introduce two new research awards worth 2,000 and 3,000 euros to support up-and-coming researchers in the region. The prizes will be awarded to the best dissertation and the best master's thesis on the topic "The Future Working World".
Theses addressing topics like "demographic change", "working conditions in companies", "the efficient use of ICT" or "the reconciliation of work and family life" written at a university of the Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region (Mannheim, Heidelberg, Landau) as well as at the universities of Karlsruhe or Darmstadt may be submitted.
The theses will be assessed by a committee composed of Wolf-Dietrich Möller and Manfred Soßong from the Volksbank Weinheim Foundation, Professor Rolf-Jürgen Ahlers, and Professor Clemens Fuest (ZEW President), Thomas Kohl (ZEW Director of Business and Administration), Professor Irene Bertschek (head of the ZEW Research Group "Information and Communication Technologies") and Professor Holger Bonin (head of the ZEW Research Department "Labour Markets, Human Resources and Social Policy").
Contributions have to be submitted by October 31, 2013, to the Volksbank Weinheim Foundation, Bismarckstraße 1, 69469 Weinheim, in German or English. The award ceremony takes place at the New Year’s reception of Volksbank Weinheim eG on January 16, 2014.
