ZEW Economist Kai Hüschelrath Accepts Chair at University of Mannheim

Dr. Kai Hüschelrath, head of the Research Group "Competition and Regulation" at the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW), was appointed professor of economics at the University of Mannheim in early October 2013.

The appointment was carried out in close coordination with ZEW and will strengthen cooperation between the university and ZEW in the areas of research and qualification of up-and-coming economists.

"It is my goal to further intensify the scientific exchange between the University of Mannheim and ZEW through joint research projects, workshops and international conferences," says Hüschelrath.

Kai Hüschelrath has been a researcher at ZEW since 2006. Before he was appointed professor in Mannheim, Hüschelrath was assistant professor of industrial organization and competitive strategy at WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management in Vallendar. He has been coordinator of the interdisciplinary ScienceCampus "Mannheim Centre for Competition and Innovation"(MaCCI), which was jointly founded by the University of Mannheim and ZEW. Hüschelrath’s research focuses on transport economics and competition policy.
