ZEW Indicator of Economic Sentiment - Expectations Remain Stable
ZEW Indicator of Economic SentimentThe ZEW Indicator of Economic Sentiment for Germany has remained almost unchanged in February 2011. The indicator has climbed by 0.3 points and now stands at 15.7 points. This value is below the indicator’s historical average of 26.7 points.
The almost unaltered level of the indicator suggests that financial market experts have remained confident about the recovery of the German economy. It has certainly added to the confidence of the experts that the degree of capacity utilisation of German enterprises has increased above its tenyear historical mean.
The assessment of the current economic situation in Germany has improved again in February. The corresponding indicator has risen by 2.4 points to 85.2 points. Economic expectations for the eurozone have increased by 4.1 points in February. The respective indicator now stands at 29.5 points. The indicator for the current economic situation in the eurozone has improved by 12.2 points and now stands at 6.1 points.
