The aim of this research was to collect data on innovation activities of the business enterprise sector in the State of Saxony in the years 2017 to 2019 as well as the planned innovation activities in 2020 and 2021. For this purpose, the German Innovation Survey 2020 was complemented by a special sample of firms from Saxony. This additional innovation survey for Saxony fully shared all methodical elements of the German Innovation Survey in terms of sampling, questionnaire, survey methodology, data processing and data analysis). Weighted results were reported for the population of enterprises in Saxony with 5 or more employees in manufacturing and business-oriented service sectors and compared to the results for enterprises in Germany and the other East German States.
