College for Interdisciplinary Educational Research (CIDER)
Various institutes of the Leibniz Association, including ZEW Mannheim, as well as institutes outside the Leibniz Association, participate in the College for Interdisciplinary Educational Research.
The College for Interdisciplinary Educational Research aims to support young researchers in developing and advancing projects in the field of interdisciplinary educational research. The most important goal of this college, established in 2012, is to support outstanding young scientists (Fellows) at the beginning of their postdoctoral phase, to strengthen their independence, and thus contribute to the development of interdisciplinary educational research from a life course perspective. To date, three cohorts of 30 fellows have been supported between 2012 and 2023. A fourth cohort is planned for the upcoming funding period starting in 2024.
The College for Interdisciplinary Educational Research was initiated by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research, the Jacobs Foundation, and the participating Leibniz Institutes. Since 2019, the college has been a project of the Leibniz Education Research Network (LERN). Detailed information can be found at https://www.leibniz-bildung.de/en/about-cider/
