Determinants of Reform Capability in Europe

Countries react with very different speed to changes in their economic environment caused by globalisation and demographic change. In particular, the big countries of the Euro zone appear to be slow in adjusting their structures.Within this project different hypothesis with regard to reform capability will be tested on the basis of country panels. Political-economic determinants, cultural factors and objective economic data will be taken into account.The quantification of reform processes will be achieved, e.g., on indicators of economic freedom.
