Entrepreneurship in Rural Areas: Incidence, Determinants and Regional Economic Effects
Entrepreneurship in Rural Areas: Incidence, Determinants and Regional Economic Effects
The Project aims at identifying typical patterns and mechanisms of entrepreneurship in rural areas. In this context the entrepreneurial activities in rural areas are described using data from: the Startupdetector the IAB/ZEW-Startup Panel, the Mannheim Enterprise Panel, the Mannheim Innovation Panel and the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor. Following the descriptions of the data theory led empirical analysis looks at factors influencing entrepreneurship as well as regional economic effects triggered by entrepreneurship. Furthermore the aim is to find mechanisms under which entrepreneurship can be described and to see whether they are specific to urban or rural areas. The empirical results ideally will lead to a pattern explaining entrepreneurship in rural areas such that political guidance can be drawn from the synthesis of the data results.
