International Climate Policy and Fairness Preferences: An Experimental Study, Continuation
International Climate Policy and Fairness Preferences: An Experimental Study, Continuation
Period:
01.03.2009 – 31.05.2011
The continuation project "International climate policy and fairness preferences" had two objectives. The first objective was to analyse whether preferences for fairness can be distinguished from preferences for efficiency. For this purpose we conducted an experiment that investigates whether individuals show a pure aversion to inequity or whether their behavior is driven by the amount of the overall payoff. Furthermore, we identified the relative weight of both motivations. The second objective was to test whether the distribution of individual fairness preferences depends on the form payoff creation and the amount of payoffs, i.e. whether people behave differently when they have to earn the money.
