The Impact of Mergers on Innovation in the Relevant Market

We analyze the effect of market concentration on innovation in the relevant market. Previous work either concentrates on the effect of M&A on the profitability of competitors or on the innovative performance of the merged entity. In this project we will propose a method to identify the technology market which may differ from the relevant product market.
