Dr. Simone Schwanitz, Director at the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts, Visits ZEW

Dr. Simone Schwanitz, Director at the Ministry of Science, Research and the Arts of Baden-Württemberg, visited the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim on May 29, 2013. During her visit she was introduced to the new ZEW President, Professor Dr. Clemens Fuest, and received in-depth information about the institute's work.

In an exchange of information with ZEW’s executive directors, she gained insights into the research conducted at ZEW and the fields of activity of the institute’s research units.  Dr. Christian Rammer, deputy head of ZEW’s Research Department “Industrial Economics and International Management“, presented findings of two research projects dealing with prospects for research activity at German universities and the international comparison of the German research and innovation system.

ZEW’s Director of Business and Administration, Thomas Kohl, comments: "The information exchange was very interesting and constructive. Dr. Schwanitz was particularly interested in ZEW’s cooperation with the University of Mannheim within the Leibniz ScienceCampus "Mannheim Centre for Competition and Innovation" (MaCCI) and in the SEEK research programme."
