Prof. Bas Jacobs Visiting Researcher at ZEW

Professor Bas Jacobs, PhD, was a visiting researcher at ZEW's Research Group "International Distribution and Redistribution" from November 19 to 21, 2014. He is professor of economics and public finance at Erasmus University Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Professor Jacobs is an associate editor of the journal FinanzArchiv, member of the economist's panels of BNR and MeJudice, jury member of the Netherlands Ministry of Finance Thesis Prize and member of the advisory board of the Norwegian Center of Taxation. His research crosses the borders of public finance, optimal taxation, welfare economics, macroeconomics, human capital theory, and labour economics. During his stay, he held a ZEW Research Seminar on optimal capital taxation when individuals have different rates of return.
