ZEW Apprentice Laura Kumpf Wins Poster Competition
Dates and NewsMedia design apprentice Laura Kumpf won the first prize in a poster competition devoted to the 9th European Data Protection Day on 28 January 2015. The competition is organised once a year by the Helmholtz Association, the German Research Foundation (DFG), the Max Planck Society, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and the Leibniz Association. Laura Kumpf is a digital and print media designer with the subject areas of design and technology at ZEW. She is currently in her third year of apprenticeship. The poster she designed will be displayed in various facilities of the participating institutions in January 2015. "ZEW is proud that Laura Kumpf's poster design has won the competition. We want to express our heartfelt congratulations. The award confirms the high quality of vocational training in ZEW’s service departments," Thomas Kohl, Director of Business and Administration at ZEW, says.
The European Data Protection Day was established in 2007 at the initiative of the Council of Europe to raise public awareness of data protection. The Helmholtz Association, the German Research Foundation, the Max Planck Society, the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft and the Leibniz Association have contributed a poster to the event over the past few years. As a member of the Leibniz Association, ZEW provides the poster for the 2015 Data Protection Day.
