Bettina Peters (centre) takes over a professorship at the University of Luxembourg.

Professor Bettina Peters, deputy head of the Research Department "Economics of Innovation and Industrial Dynamics", has taken over the professorship of management at the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance at the University of Luxembourg (FDEF) on September 1, 2016. The appointment of Peters will further strengthen ZEW's ties with the University of Luxembourg.

"My aim is to promote further cooperation through both joint research activities and an informed professional dialogue between ZEW and the University of Luxembourg. Cooperation opportunities may arise, in particular, in the form of joint research projects or seminars, but also as a result of my teaching of doctoral students and students in the Master's programme in entrepreneurship and innovation," comments Peters on her plans in her dual role as ZEW economist and university professor.

Peters has been working at ZEW since 2000, where she has been doing research in the fields of innovation behaviour of firms, and on research and innovation policy. Since 2013, she has been the deputy head of the Research Department "Economics of Innovation and Industrial Dynamics". Peters conducted several research stays at foreign universities, including Boston University, KU Leuven, Belgium, and Pennsylvania State University, USA.

Thomas Kohl, Director of Business and Administration at ZEW, welcomes the strengthened cooperation through Bettina Peters’ appointment as professor. "The University of Luxembourg has appointed one of ZEW's most prolific researchers. The ZEW Board of Directors congratulates her on this position and wishes her every success."

The University of Luxembourg, which was founded in 2003, is the only public university in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. The university describes itself as multilingual, international and research-oriented. Peters' professorship is held in the Centre for Research in Economics and Management (CREA) at the Faculty of Law, Economics and Finance of the University of Luxembourg.
