ZEW Lunch Debate in BrusselsSome 130 invited guests attended the ZEW Lunch Debate in Brussels on May 12, 2014. Against the backdrop of the upcoming elections to the European Parliament, Prof. Clemens Fuest, President of the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW), presented a paper on future key areas of European economic policy. ZEW recommends that the European Parliament and the European Commission focus on these priority areas to make better use of untapped potentials in the European Union.
Fuest’s presentation was followed by a panel discussion on the ZEW proposals. The panellists were Sidonia Jedrzejewska, a Polish Member of the European Parliament, who is also a member of the Parliament's Committee on Budgets and participated in the EU budget negotiations, and Valerie Herzberg, a member of the cabinet of Herman van Rompuy, President of the European Council. Dr. Werner Mussler, Brussels correspondent of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung, chaired the discussion.
