ZEW President Clemens Fuest Appointed to Advisory Board of Germany's Stability Council

ZEW President Prof. Clemens Fuest has been appointed to the advisory board of the German Stability Council. The Stability Council monitors the budgetary management of German federal and state governments in order to identify impending budgetary emergencies and to initiate measures responding to emerging threats. The experts on the advisory board support the Stability Council’s work. For the next five years, Clemens Fuest will be one of six members of the advisory board. He is responsible for an expert statement on compliance with the maximum national structural financial deficit. Further tasks include recommendations for measures to eliminate excessive budgetary deficits.
