ZEW Proves Its Athletic Spirit: Research Meets Fitness at Company Run

On 20 June 2024, the ZEW team demonstrated their athletic spirit at the BAUHAUS company run in Mannheim. With over 5,300 participants from 282 companies, the run was a resounding success. Among the participants were nine runners from ZEW, who competed in two mixed teams.
Cäcilia Lipowski was the fastest female ZEW runner, coming in 118th out of 1,992 women, while Jan Köhler was the top male ZEW runner, placing 175th out of 2,511 men. The two ZEW mixed teams finished 39th and 91st in their category.
Daniel Scheuermann, head of the “General Services” Unit and a member of the ZEW running team, commented: “The atmosphere at the Ehrenhof at the start and finish was fantastic. On the course, there were all kinds of participants. Some were running and strolling, so it was a very mixed field. There was a marching band and a samba band along the route to keep everyone in good spirits. After the morning rain, the weather was ideal. All in all it was a very successful event.”
The 5.2km course through the palace park and along the banks of the Rhine provided the perfect setting for a shared sporting experience. After the run, the participants celebrated their achievements at a big after-run party in the Ehrenhof of Mannheim Palace.
