New Chairman of ZEW Sponsors’ Association for Science and Practice Appointed

After many years of honorary service in the ZEW Sponsors’ Association for Science and Practice, Dr. Dr. Peter Bettermann, who had chaired the association for nine years, has left office pursuant to the association’s statutes. Prof. Dr. Andreas Dulger has been appointed his successor as chairman of the sponsors’ association, effective December 9, 2013.

Since 2001, Dr. Dr. Peter Betterman, former spokesman for the management board of Freudenberg & Co KG, has been a member of the ZEW Sponsors’ Association for Science and Practice. In 2005 he accepted the chairmanship of the board. ZEW President Prof. Dr. Clemens Fuest thanked him for his commitment to the Sponsors’ Association. "Your dedicated service contributed substantially to strengthening exchange between science and practice. It was under your direction that the Sponsors’ Association funded numerous scientific projects and events at ZEW that otherwise would not have been possible."

Prof. Dr. Andreas Dulger, chairman of the executive board of ProMinent Dosiertechnik GmbH, Heidelberg, was elected new chairman of the ZEW Sponsors’ Association for Science and Practice. He will be supported by long-standing deputy of the association Dr. Kurt W. Bock, chairman of the executive board of BASF SE. Further members of the executive board of the ZEW Sponsors’ Association for Science and Practice are Dr. Uwe Schroeder-Wildberg, chairman of the executive board of MLP AG, Dr. Alexander Selent, vice-chair of the executive board of Fuchs Petrolub SE, Dr. Georg Müller, chairman of the executive board of MVV Energie AG, and Dr. Ralph Krieger, board member of Freudenberg SE. Georg Müller and Ralph Krieger have been elected new members of the board by the general assembly.

The ZEW Sponsors’ Association for Science and Practice was established by business representatives to support ZEW’s scientific work. The association is also a platform for entrepreneurs and researchers to discuss economic policy issues.
