The Research Area “Health at Work” studies the institutional role of health-related social insurance systems for modern labour markets. The area analyses the relevance of these social insurance systems for the labour market (re)integration of frail and disadvantaged individuals. A particular focus is on sick and medical leave as well as disability insurance. Further, the research area evaluates the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on regional wages, employment and infections at the workplace.
