Evaluating existing minimum wage regulations in the roofing sector
Evaluating existing minimum wage regulations in the roofing sector
We evaluate the effects of the minimum wage regulations in the roofing sector on outcomes such as employment, wage structure, working conditions and competition. Against the background of theoretically ambiguous effects, the initial step is to thoroughly analyze the specifics of the roofing sector in terms of its market conditions and level of competition. We then analyse the causal impact of the minimum wage regulations on employment and the wage structure. In addition, the effects of the minimum wage regulations on working conditions and the competition in the roofing sector are also outcomes of interest. For these analyses, the project makes use of a number of different data sets: individual and firm-level administrative data, the Mannheim Enterprise Panel as well as additional firm-level survey data.
