Period: 01.12.2021 – 30.06.2022

The aim of the study is to analyse the development of R&D expenditure in Germany in the past 25 years for sectors of performance and individual industries in the business enterprise sector. The dynamics in Germany are analysed vis-à-vis trends in other industrialised countries in order to identify special features in terms of industry trends. The development of R&D expenditure is also put into the context of government policies. The analyses are used to derive recommendations on how to strengthen Germany's position with respect to R&D expenditure.
