Chinese Delegation of Mineral Oil Company CNPC Visits ZEW
Dates and NewsOn 18 May 2018, Professor Yan Lunjiang, President of the Research Institute of Safety and Environment Technology (RISE), visited ZEW with a Chinese delegation. RISE is a Beijing-based research institute that is associated with the state-owned oil company China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC).
Dr. Daniela Heimberger, head of the Service Department “International Affairs and Public Relations” welcomed the visitors from China and gave them an overview of the institute and its research activities. The guests were particularly interested in the existing collaborations between ZEW and Chinese universities and institutions. During the delegation’s visit, Manuel Lauer from the Service Department “Knowledge Transfer and Qualification Programmes” gave a presentation on the further training opportunities offered by ZEW. In his presentation, he placed a special emphasis on those training and qualification programmes which are targeted at international participants. Of particular interest was the presentation delivered by Jie Wu, assistant professor at the Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, who is currently conducting a research project on emissions trading in ZEW’s Research Department “Environmental and Resource Economics, Environmental Management”. In her speech, Jie Wu provided insights into her work and her personal experience as a visiting researcher at ZEW.
Following their stay at ZEW, the Chinese delegation visited Fuchs Petrolub SE in Mannheim, a company which has close ties with ZEW thanks to its membership in ZEW’s Sponsors’ Association for Science and Practice.
