Economics Congress Brexit in Stuttgart
Dates and NewsThe UK will soon leave the EU, an event which poses great challenges for many companies. What changes are they facing? What possibilities are there to mitigate the consequences of Brexit? Are there any policy measures that offer support to companies? The Economics Congress Brexit, which will take place in Stuttgart today, aims to provide answers to these questions. The event will be jointly organised by the Ministry for Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing of the State of Baden-Württemberg, the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) and several trade associations of Baden-Württemberg.
Besides Dr. Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut MdL, Minister for Economic Affairs, Labour and Housing, and ZEW President Professor Achim Wambach, who will give a lecture on the economic challenges of Brexit, numerous representatives from the realms of economics and industry will attend the event.
With regard to the importance of the United Kingdom for the German economy, Achim Wambach emphasises that, “Great Britain is Germany’s fifth largest trading partner and an important node in the global network of German companies to create added value. It is therefore important for the prosperity of both economies to maintain good trade relations even after Brexit.
