ZEW Study Receives Best Paper Award

Research

The study titled "Rewards and performance: A comparison across creative and routine tasks" by ZEW researchers Christiane Bradler, Susanne Neckermann and Arne Jonas Warnke received the Best Paper Award at the 16th Colloquium on Personnel Economics in Tübingen at the end of February 2013. The prize, which includes an endowment, was sponsored by the German academic journal PERSONALquarterly. In their award-winning paper, the authors used a laboratory experiment to compare the effects of various forms of bonus payments on work performance linked to simple routine procedures and tasks demanding creativity. The Best Paper Award honours high quality research relevant to human resources management. Christiane Bradler and Arne Jonas Warnke are members of the ZEW Research Department "Labour Markets, Human Resources and Social Policy"; Susanne Neckermann is ZEW Research Fellow and assistant professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam.
