Ernst-O. Schulze, former ZEW director of business and administration

Ernst-O. Schulze, Director of Business and Administration at the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) in Mannheim between 1990 and 2004, celebrates his 75th birthday on July 23, 2014. ZEW President Professor Clemens Fuest and Thomas Kohl, Schulze's successor as Director of Business and Administration, are happy to take this opportunity and honour the birthday celebrant. As an experienced research manager, Schulze contributed largely to the successful development of ZEW, which is now a research institute with a strong national and international reputation. On behalf of the entire ZEW staff, they cordially congratulate him on his birthday.

Schulze, who has been living in Bruchsal for 30 years now, was appointed ZEW's first Director of Business and Administration when the institute was founded in late 1990. Together with ZEW founding director Professor Heinz König, and since 1997 with Heinz's successor Professor Wolfgang Franz, he was in charge of the management of the research institute. Schulze retired on July 23, 2004, but has maintained close personal links to ZEW. He is a member of the ZEW alumni network, which was established by former employees of the research institute, and also of the ZEW Sponsors' Association for Science and Practice, which promotes the dialogue between science and business by funding scientific projects and events.
