EU Horizon 2020 Project FRAME on innovation policy

How do macroeconomics and innovation policy interact? This question will be at the heart of the discussion between academics and policymakers at the FRAME Final Policy Conference in London on 18 and 19 February 2019. The conference will conclude the EU Horizon 2020 project FRAME (Framework for the Analysis of Research and Adoption Activities and their Macroeconomic Effects) and opens participation to a limited number of interested guests.

Since April 2017, researchers involved in the FRAME project have been investigating how macroeconomic determinants influence the diffusion of innovation. The aim is to develop a toolbox to measure the impact of innovation policy on key variables such as productivity, growth and employment. At the FRAME Final Policy Conference, the FRAME consortium will present key results and discuss the main policy implications of the FRAME project. These include new dynamic stochastic general equilibrium (DSGE) modelling approaches and new total factor productivity (TFP) estimation methods to develop appropriate research and innovation policies in Europe. The conference will be open to scientific and political communities to discuss the key conclusions of the project with renowned participants like Harvard Professor Philippe Aghion, Professor Ramon Marimon from the European University Institute in Florence, Senior OECD Economist Chiara Criscuolo, and Professor Dietmar Harhoff from the Max Planck Institute for Innovation and Competition in Munich. A limited number of people from the realms of academics, politics, and business interested in attending the event can still register online. Registration is free of charge.
