Is data the "new oil" or the "currency of the future"? Sceptics and supporters agree on one thing: data is an essential resource for innovation, job creation, economic growth, competitiveness and social progress in general.

Should data be accessible to and reusable by all stakeholders? There is a general consensus that regulatory bodies need to ensure that data is able to flow across borders and sectors.
