A Demand Side Perspective on Economic Policy Advice

How is the supply and set of institutions providing policy advice perceived from the demand side? Where is more scientific evidence desirable from a political perspective and what are relevant points of contact to make scientific results salient to decision makers? To gain insights to these and more questions, we invite Dr. Yannick Bury (MdB, CDU) to a special format of the ZEW Research Seminar. The speaker has gained experience in economic policy advice from both perspectives. He worked as a researcher at the Walter Eucken Institute and holds a PhD from the University of Freiburg and has been a member of the German Bundestag since 2021.

After sharing his thoughts on and perception of evidence based policy advice, Dr. Bury discusses with Friedrich Heinemann on how research results reach the realm of policy makers. Following, everybody is invited to pose 'critical questions' especially and the organizers encourage a lively discussion.
