The Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) and the Mannheim Centre for Competition and Innovation (MaCCI) are pleased to announce the Mannheim Energy Conference 2013. Researchers and practitioners from various disciplines will discuss the lessons learned from more than 15 years of power market liberalisation in Europe. New opportunities and future challenges arising from European environmental targets will also be subjects of debate. The conference aims at stimulating discussion between international researchers conducting related empirical and theoretical analysis. The conference will also focus on policy implications of recent research and on the challenges for research resulting from current political decisions. Theoretical, empirical, and policy-oriented contributions from all areas of the economics of national and international energy markets are welcome. A non-exhaustive list of topics is:
