6th ReCapNet Conference: Real Estate Markets and Capital Markets
ConferenceThe Leibniz Network on Real Estate Markets and Capital Markets (ReCapNet) focuses on the interactions between real estate markets and capital markets. Researchers from different disciplines and with different methodological approaches examine the importance of international capital markets for real estate markets.
The research topics of the network include, but are not limited to: the impact of financial market conditions on housing and commercial real estate markets; development opportunities and financial markets; and the stability of real estate and capital markets.On October 24 – 25, 2014, the sixth conference of the network will take place at ZEW in Mannheim. This conference is open to all researchers interested in the relationship between real estate markets and capital markets.
We welcome contributions from finance and economics, as well as from economic and urban geography, regional science, urban development planning, demography, and law.
Potential topics include (but are not limited to):
- Spill-overs between real estate markets and capital markets
- Financing behaviour and stability of real estate markets
- Urban development and new ownership structures in housing markets
- Performance and risk of real estate-based capital market instruments
- Regulation of real estate-based capital market instruments
- Financing behaviour, corporate strategy and performance of real estate companies
Studies that concentrate on China or other Asian countries are particularly welcome.

Costs
The registration fee is EUR 150 for academic researchers, in case of real estate and finance professionals EUR 250. ReCapNet will reimburse expenses for travel (APEX fare) and accommodation during the conference for speakers and discussants. The network provides the opportunity to a limited number of interested non-presenting participants to sign up online for a participation until September 30, 2014.
