Innovative Capabilities and the Role of Consultants in the Information Economy
WorkshopOver the past two decades industrialized economies have experienced an enormous increase in their expenditures on information and communication technologies (ICT). The use of ICT facilitates the development of new products and enables firms to redesign their internal production processes and workplaces. In consequence, there is broad evidence indicating that the diffusion of ICT contributes significantly to the productivity growth at country and firm-level. However, the successful implementation and use of new ICT is a complex task and requires appropriate technological knowledge in the adopting enterprise.
The main goal of the workshop is to bring together academic researchers and professionals in order to provide a deeper understanding of the process and strategies required to successfully adopt and use new ICT. The workshop is particularly focused on the impact of ICT Consulting on the innovation capabilities at the firm level and the social and economic implications of this process. Therefore, the workshop will be concentrated on the following topics:
