ZEW Summer Workshop

The general topic of the 6th Summer Workshop for Young Economists at the Centre for European Economic Research (ZEW) is The Management of Global Commons. The workshop is meant to provide a forum for discussionsbetween young talented researchers and distinguished experts in their field of research. The programme will consist of lectures by experienced researchers and presentations of young scholars. Extensive time will be provided for discussions among participants.

Call for Papers:
The participants will be required to present a paper during the workshop. We invite submissionsof theoretical and empirical papers from economics and other social sciences. Papers could address topics as:
 The Economics of Water
 The Economics of Biodiversity
 Economics of Climate Change and Climate Policy
 Natural Resources and International Trade
 International Environmental Negotiations
Finance: Participants may apply to the ZEW for financial assistance for travel and accomodation costs.
Application: Please submit the paper to be presented, a curriculum vitae specifically outlining your research, and one letter of reference relating to your research.
Deadline for submissions: February, 28, 2004

Heinz-König-Young-Scholar-Award:
The ZEW is pleased to announce its Heinz-König-Young-Scholar-Award named after its late founding research director who strongly shaped the ZEW’s scientific achievements. The award will be given to scholars under 35 years ofage for the most outstanding paper presented at this year's summer workshop. The award consists of a prize of 5,000 Euro and, in addition, a three months’ residential fellowship at the ZEW covering travel and accommodation costs. The winner will be announced at the summer workshop.
