ZEW-FDZ Data User Workshop
WorkshopZEW is currently organising a data user workshop to be held on November 16 and 17, 2016, at the Centre for European Economics Research (ZEW) in Mannheim.
The ZEW Research Data Centre (ZEW-FDZ) provides external researchers with access to research data collected by ZEW. Since 1996, more than 350 external researchers have made use of scientific-use-files containing ZEW survey data. Data can be used for external data analyses or accessed on-site on ZEW premises in Mannheim. The most frequently accessed ZEW data are data collected as part of the Mannheim Innovation Panel (MIP) – the German part of the Community Innovation Survey – and the KfW/ZEW Start-up Panel (now: IAB/ZEW Start-up Panel).
The aim of the workshop is to give researchers the opportunity to present and discuss studies conducted using ZEW survey data. A focus will be placed on the particularities of ZEW (panel) survey research questions. Recent or ongoing studies concerning econometric and policy-oriented topics on any aspect of entrepreneurship, firm dynamics and in particular, innovation activities are welcomed. In addition, the workshop will include a session addressing methodological features of panel survey designs. ZEW would also like to invite all data users to put forward critical comments and suggestions for the improvement of ZEW survey data.
